Job Summary:

Position Purpose

This role is responsible for driving business growth and strategic decision-making through deep consumer understanding, advanced analytical rigor, and influential insight leadership.

The successful candidate is expected to be a recognized expert in consumer insights and analytics while also building a high-performing, highly trusted, and highly influential insight organization.

Success in this role is measured not only by the quality of insights generated, but also by the ability to develop talent, build organizational trust, elevate team capability, and create sustainable business impact through others.

 

Responsibilities

1.     Insight Leadership (30%)

Research Excellence: Serve as the functional leader for consumer insight and analytics.

Responsibilities include:

o  Lead and oversee all phases of the insight process, including business problem definition, research design, field execution, analysis, interpretation, recommendation development, and business influence.

o  Ensure research quality, rigor, validity, and business relevance across all projects.

o  Challenge research methodologies, sampling approaches, questionnaire design, analytical frameworks, and interpretation of findings.

o  Establish and continuously raise research standards across the team.

o  Guide and coach team members on qualitative, quantitative, behavioral, observational, and emerging research methodologies.

o  Drive innovation in research approaches, data sources, and analytical capabilities.


Insight Generation: Move beyond reporting findings to generating strategic business insight.

Responsibilities include:

o  Translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.

o  Identify underlying consumer tensions, unmet needs, growth opportunities, and strategic implications.

o  Connect multiple data sources into a coherent business narrative.

o  Distinguish insights from observations and ensure recommendations are commercially meaningful.

o  Develop insight frameworks that influence business strategy and long-term planning.


Consumer & Guest Understanding: Act as the organization’s leading expert on consumers and guests.

Responsibilities include:

o  Maintain deep understanding of guest behavior, motivations, decision journeys, and changing expectations.

o  Champion consumer-centric thinking throughout the organization.

o  Ensure business decisions are grounded in consumer understanding rather than assumptions.

o  Identify future consumer trends and emerging opportunities.


2.     Business Impact & Strategic Influence (20%)

Strategic Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leaders.

Responsibilities include:

o  Influence business decisions through consumer evidence and strategic thinking.

o  Shape business agendas rather than only responding to requests.

o  Participate actively in critical business discussions and decision-making forums.

o  Provide constructive challenge when consumer evidence contradicts existing assumptions.

o  Ensure insights lead to action and measurable business outcomes.

o  Executive Communication & Storytelling

o  Translate complexity into clear business decisions.

o  Responsibilities include:

o  Simplify complex information into compelling executive narratives.

o  Communicate key messages clearly, concisely, and persuasively.

o  Present recommendations confidently to senior leadership.

o  Tailor communication to different audiences while maintaining message integrity.

o  Influence through logic, evidence, and storytelling rather than data volume alone.


3.     Leadership & Team Development (30%)

Requirements

Professional Experience

o  10+ years of consumer insights, market research, analytics, consulting, strategy, or related experience.

o  Deep expertise across qualitative and quantitative methodologies.

o  Demonstrated experience translating research into strategic business impact.

o  Strong understanding of consumer behavior and decision-making.

o  Experience managing large and complex research programs.

Technical Excellence

Candidates must demonstrate:

o  Advanced research design expertise.

o  Strong questionnaire development capability.

o  Strong analytical thinking and hypothesis-driven problem solving.

o  Ability to evaluate and challenge research methodologies.
