Job Summary:

Welcome to the Facility and Operations Services Team
We meticulously attend to every detail, creating each element to enhance the exciting experiences that display Disney’s classic heritage. No matter what role you have in the Attractions Operations, Central Shops, Facilities and Operations Services or Horticulture, you will have the opportunity to exercise your skills. You will collaborate with dedicated Cast Members, exchanging ideas and learning from one another as you work together to bring the magic to life.

As a senior technician-mechanical, your primary duty is to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing and installation of mechanical systems and equipment, including but not limited to mechanical, plumbing, air condition, kitchen, water treatment, auto door, elevator, gate and fire protection. Conduct operational and functional checks of systems and equipment. Identifies and evaluates problems/conditions associated with the operation and maintenance of systems and equipment. Plans, estimates, tests and performs quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a visible commitment to safety
  • Ensure the safety, reliability and show quality of assigned assets
  • Lead a shift team to do site work and report to the system status to leader
  • Installation, repair and maintenance work includes pumps, motors, controllers, fixtures, piping, valves, fittings, strainers, sand filters, water heaters, drinking fountains, eyewash stations, boiler pressure vessel, drains and sewer systems, air condition, kitchen, auto door, water treatment, elevator and mist
  • Use hands and power tools to install, remove or disassemble the above listed items. Involves hand and arm movements such as power gripping, lifting above, below the waist, standing, bending, and stooping. This will entail pushing/pulling equipment less than 50 lbs, lifting tools and equipment less than 50 lbs, climbing stairs and ladders while grasping parts and tools. May work indoors or outside during inclement weather and on any shift. Requires frequent handling of powered/manual tools weighing 5-50 lbs
  • Operational and functional checks of plumbing and water treatment systems and equipment. Start up and operation of pumps and motors, sand filters, chemical injectors, fountains and water effects. Takes water samples and performs chemical testing and reading. Performs opening/closing of gas, compressed air, and hot, chilled, potable water valves. Must have the ability to follow checklists or standard operating procedures
  • Identification and evaluation of problems or conditions. Understands the function and proper operation of systems and equipment to pinpoint and assess causes of malfunction or failure. Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, specifications and other technical publications associated with the design and construction, installation of systems and equipment
  • Conduct material and tools handling, lifting, carrying and loading of system components, repair parts, tools and equipment on vehicles, work benches or job locations. Activities require bending, pushing, pulling and lifting, turning. Uses hoists or cranes to move heavy loads and weight handling equipment to transport to distant destinations
  • Manage assigned workload through the use of CMMS system (MAXIMO). Will be required to attend and pass compliance and other associated training to ensure correct maintenance documentation. Requires computer literacy. Evaluate job scope, determine needed parts/materials, and order through authorized vendors
  • Carry out any miscellaneous tasks as directed by leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • Good hand work experience and skill
  • Experience at Lock Out Tag out procedure and process will be plus
  • Experience working in mechanical maintenance environment with knowledge of electrical maintenance work processes, trades, tools, equipment, etc
  • Over 5 years relevant working experience in mechanical & plumbing maintenance field
  • Good communication skills and teamwork abilities, relate to fellow Cast Members, management, vendors and other Cast from Disney divisions outside the Resort
  • Available to work Sunday through Saturday, all shifts (i.e., 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) as deemed required by management
  • Full availability for any dates in a week and any shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
