
Senior Accountant
Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting processes and deliverables for 1 or multiple line of business for APAC region in compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The Senior Accountant will liaise on a day-to-day basis with local and regional Finance, local business operations as well as the controllership teams in the US. The role is expected to have strong accounting technical knowledge and prior general ledger accounting experience. Managing external accounting services to strengthen controls and deliver accurate financial insights for complex transactions is a core aspect of the role. The role is responsible to maintain the internal controls which impact financial compliance.
• Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely completion of monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including the review of journal entries and financial reports generated by third-party vendors. Proactively address closing issues to maintain data integrity and compliance.
• Prepare and analyze key financial reports, including P&L CoC analyses with root cause variance explanations, and actionable recommendations if any.
• Partner with finance and other stakeholders to support data analysis, advise on accounting treatments for new initiatives or business changes, and ensure accurate reflection of financial impacts.
• Serve as the primary contact for lines of business, effectively addressing internal and external inquiries, facilitating cross-functional discussions, and supporting audit processes.
• Manage third-party vendors and risk control by implementing structured performance monitoring, KPI reviews, and proactive identification and mitigation of risks to ensure service quality and regulatory compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing the efficiency of period-end closing, reporting accuracy, and overall finance service delivery.
• Conduct regular vendor training by communicating updates on accounting standards and company policies to ensure that general ledger processes remain current.
• Contribute to ad-hoc projects, special analyses, or cross-functional initiatives as required
Experience and Professional Qualifications Required
Number of years’ experience, Qualifications and People Management experience
• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or related major
• CPA or equivalent is preferred
• Solid Knowledge of both USGAAP and IFRS
• Good written and verbal English knowledge
• Experience in working with both Big 4 audit firms and multinational company is preferred
• Solid Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with automation tools or data visualization software (Power Query/Power BI) is a plus
