Job Summary:

Job Purpose

The Security Manager for Mainland China is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across all Global Security functions within the region. The role oversees risk assessment, threat monitoring, crisis and incident management, investigations, event and production security, asset protection, security technology coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

Operating with minimal supervision, the Security Manager ensures the protection of TWDC employees, facilities, intellectual property, and business operations through proactive security planning and effective incident response. This position is a part of Greater China Security team, collaborates closely with APAC Global Security teams, business units, third‑party vendors, and government entities to ensure consistent and high‑quality security delivery across Mainland China.

Key Responsibilities

Security Leadership, Risk & Crisis Management

  • Lead regional risk identification, threat assessments, and mitigation planning across Mainland China.
  • Develop and maintain site‑specific Incident Management (IM) and Emergency Response (ER) plans, ensuring alignment with APAC crisis protocols.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness exercises with APAC Risk & Crisis Response teams.
  • Monitor business intelligence and local security developments, advising leaders on recommended adjustments to security posture.

Operational Security & Business Assurance

  • Oversee all daily security operations for TWDC offices in Mainland China.
  • Implement physical security standards, access control policies, and protection measures for TWDC assets and intellectual property.
  • Manage the Business Assurance (BA) program, ensuring remediation of control weaknesses.
  • Support deployment of security technologies and systems in partnership with APAC Technical Security.

Event, Production & Content Security

  • Lead security planning and execution for high‑profile events, media productions, talent visits, and corporate initiatives.
  • Provide risk assessments and security advisories for TWDC production and content operations.
  • Implement anti‑piracy and content protection protocols, in line with APAC and global standards.

Investigations & Intelligence Coordination

  • Conduct and lead investigations into security‑related incidents, misconduct, loss, or operational risks across Mainland China.
  • Maintain networks for intelligence gathering and collaborate with law enforcement and private sector partners.
  • Produce regular reporting on incident trends, investigative outcomes, and emerging threats.

Stakeholder Management & External Engagement

  • Build strong partnerships with local business leaders, country leadership teams, Corporate Operations & Real Estate (CORE), HR, Legal, Finance, and Production groups.
  • Serve as the primary security advisor and point of contact to all Mainland China business units.
  • Maintain active relationships with law enforcement, government agencies, and industry counterparts to support TWDC security operations.

Vendor Management, Budgeting & Reporting

  • Manage regional security vendors and ensure service quality meets contractual KPIs and SLAs.
  • Support annual budgeting processes and provide monthly metrics, program updates, and status reports to APAC Security Leadership.
  • Recommend enhancements to vendor performance, technologies, and operational processes.

Training, Awareness & Culture Building

  • Develop and deliver security awareness training, travel briefings, and IM/ER preparedness sessions.
  • Promote a collaborative and continuous improvement–driven security culture across Mainland China teams.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in corporate security, law enforcement, military, risk management, and/or related fields, with exposure to multinational environments.
  • Experience in physical security, crisis management, investigations, business intelligence, and stakeholder engagement is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in managing security operations for large‑scale events within the entertainment industry.
  • Experience supporting senior executives and coordinating with government agencies.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills for risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Proven ability to lead operations independently and deliver results in complex environments.
  • Good written and verbal communication in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
  • Experience managing vendors, contracts, and SLA/KPI performance.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage sensitive/confidential matters.
  • Familiarity with production, content, or media security is an advantage.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CPP, PSP, CFE, CISSP, or similar industry credentials.
  • First aid, emergency management, or safety certifications advantageous.

Others:

  • Ability to travel within the APAC region as needed.
  • Willingness to support incidents and urgent matters outside normal working hours.
  • High ethical standards, strong integrity, and commitment to TWDC values.
