
Lead Ride Technician
Job Summary:

By ensuring the smooth operation of every magical experience and contributing to our many industry awards and honors, you will help carry forward Disney’s spirit of craftsmanship.
As a Lead Ride Technician in Central Shop, you will be responsible for ride equipment and assets in Shanghai Disney Resort, conduct overhaul, recondition, fabrication, repair, inspection or machining work on attraction ride vehicles, Disney proprietary computer-controlled animatronics figures, pneumatic and hydraulic system/assemblies, PLC, fiber glass scenic show sets/props and other commercial-confidential items. You will work with managers to lead a couple of technicians to make plan for overhaul, provide technical supervision, instruction, material management support.
Responsibilities:
- Execute preventative& corrective maintenance, trouble shooting, downtime follow up, major rehab or installation on variety of electrical or mechanical systems for ride& show, and accomplishment of the assigned tasks.
- Auditing the working shop management, make sure the safety, tidiness, tools, spare parts and documentation are proper and align with company's standards.
- Spot check maintenance work orders entry status in current shift (working hours, materials, etc.). Spare parts request and receiving. Follow up with backlog working orders and completion rate. Down time report and handover report. Follow up the auditing results. Familiar with the drawings and red- line procedure.
- Provide supervision and lead to multi teams in area of technicians and contract labors for field implementation in both technical and safety aspect. Priorities the working orders and arrange the work assignments to teams. Coordinate the resources between different teams. Be the subject matter expert of a particular aspect, provide advice to the team for resolving the issues efficiently. Competent in trouble shooting and corrective maintenance procedure.
- Attend job training sessions and and complete knowledge and practice training, then pass examinations.
- Attend and lead the handover briefing. Execute and complete job task from manager. Schedule and resources planning for field implementation of multiple attractions related maintenance tasks (monthly planning maintenance, cycles, labor consumable tasks, small projects, etc.), coordination and communication with internal and external stakeholders for smooth implementation of assigned tasks.
Basic Qualifications:
- Maintenance, installation or major rehab experience in safety and service critical system. Strong affinity in technical and maintenance knowledge and proceed with good technical understanding of the responsible attractions system which compose of industrial grade motor, gearboxes and assemblies, hydraulic and pneumatic items, variable speed motor drive controllers, safety critical PLC, analog and digital control circuits and power distribution panel, switchboards up to 380V three phase system.
- Good people leading skill. Proficiency on the application of the company information tools such as Maximo, Handheld, Drawings Library (EDMS), etc., to support the team management of Technicians and Senior Technicians in carrying out maintenance tasks, inventory and workshop management up to Disney standard, in respect to both quality and safety.
- Good project planning skills. Needs to plan for the required materials and resources as well as the timing and schedule for the acquisition. Works with other stakeholders to ensure these resources would be available for project implementation in field. Needs to liaise and coordinate with other internal stakeholders, e.g. Ride& Facility Engineer, Safety, Operations, etc. to ensure the project implementation could be carried out in a smooth and safe manner.
- Statutory licenses such as registered electrical worker, boiler operator, special vehicle driving license are preferred. Senior national craft certification or equivalent ones are preferred.
- Able to work in industrial, backstage type of environment. Frequently work in outdoor, hot and humid environment. Work at height, underwater, confined space when required.
- Able to supervise and lead multi teams in area of technicians and contract labors for field implementation in both technical and safety aspect. Prioritizes the working orders and arrange the work assignments to teams. Makes the most coordination and planning decisions in a timely manner with consensus received from the manager.
- Able to initiate resources request of the shop needed tools and spares. Able to identify specific training needs for the team for higher management’s endorsement. Able to apply the professional knowledge to accomplish their assigned tasks and tackle any issue arises.
- Strong organizing and coordination skills. Good team player, good communication skill with positive attitude.
- Skillful capability and a strong sense of pride on the job. Excellent hands-on experience in equipment repairing and setting adjustment instead of simply parts replacement. Strong sense of ownership on the equipment and workshop.
- Able to understand both Chinese and English technical job plans. Able to work under English environment.
- Be familiar with Office.
- The position takes flexible work shifts cover the attraction operating hours and third shift, including public holidays.
