
Manager, Business Planning, DCP
Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities
I. Identification & Evaluation of new business opportunities
Category mapping and Whitespace & under index category identification: identify and analyze new business opportunities and growth initiatives – new products, channel expansion, consumer segmentation, strategic partnerships
Identify new business opportunities to drive growth
Independently and/or manage third party consultancy/agency to conduct research and analysis to evaluate the opportunities
II. Business planning and implementation of strategies
Support GCK leadership on LTP and AOP strategic planning: perform analyses and work with the executive team to formulate LTP and AOP strategies, incorporate with DCP global strategy and local trend
Collaborate with sales/marketing/creative teams to identify market trends and insights (consumers, products, and channels), formulate Disney positioning and expansion strategies (category focus, marketing plan, etc.)
III. Business Operations
Track, evaluate and drive improvement of key business initiatives: Marketing campaign pitching & ER forecast, Movie pitching & ER forecast
Provide guidance and support to business managers with category and licensee analytics, deal benchmark, pitching solution, etc.
Work closely with finance and audit team for new/renewal deal analyze
Work closely with FHBP Business Solution Manager and Social Compliance Manager to provide sufficient support to Business Team
Contract renewal tracking and management
Help improve licensing team efficiency and effectiveness – implement best practices, develop deal analysis frameworks, improve sales planning tools
IV. Cross function collaboration and projects management
Cross border deal initiative and coordination
Cross line business coordination with Publishing, Gaming, Studio Promotion, Media distribution team
Management presentations and ad hoc business planning and business operation analyses
Working Relationships
Internal
- All DCP Licensing team members in Greater China & Korea
- Global and APAC Strategy, Business Planning & Operations teams
- Key stakeholders in Finance, Creative, Product Development, Marketing, Retail, etc.
External
- Professional service personnel (consultants, investment bankers)
- Potential and Existing business partners
- Industry experts and Licensees
Requirements
Education:
Graduate of a top Chinese or overseas university, preferably with a major in Business, Finance, or Economics
Experience:
6 years of experience in MNC Strategy, Business Planning, PMO roles (required)
Minimum 4 years of experience in analytical positions at multinational corporations, with exposure to business development, product development and/or marketing in China, ideally North Asia
Consumer Products, Consulting and/or Marketing Agency Industries background
Strong experience with business intelligence, data analytics, financial modeling
Core Skills:
Strong strategic thinker with excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to think pragmatically and ability to drive executions
Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities
Project management skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
Creative and resourceful
Excellent teamwork capabilities
Working effectively with people from various backgrounds and levels
