Job Summary:
Primary Duties:
- Collaborate with Creative, Interior designers and Architects to develop and refine the FF&E package for projects.
- Prepare and present FF&E design concepts, mood boards, and material samples to Interior design team, Creative, and Project Team.
- Research and source products, materials, and finishes from a wide range of manufacturers and vendors.
- Create detailed FF&E specifications, including product descriptions, finishes, dimensions, and installation details.
- Work with the Project Team and Estimate Team to develop and manage FF&E budgets, ensuring selections align with the project financial constraints.
- Work with the Project Planner to develop FF&E design, procurement, production and delivery, installation schedules.
- Develop FF&E procurement strategy for each project.
- Prepare tender documents. Collaborate with Sourcing Procurement Team to tender the FF&E package.
- Be responsible for new vendor setup, placing order, good receipt, and vendor payments.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material and finish samples from vendors.
- Conduct factory visits to ensure that FF&E production is completed according to design specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Sourcing Procurement Team to ensure timely ordering, delivery, and installation of all FF&E items.
- Coordinate with Construction Management Team, Contractors, Vendors, and On-site Teams to oversee the installation of FF&E items.
- Manage the FF&E punch list during the project punch walk and collaborate with the Vendor to complete the modifications.
- Create an FF&E turnover list, collect the turnover documents, and transfer them to Operation Team after the completion of the project.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring that deadlines and milestones are met.
- Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and Interior Design Team on the status of FF&E selections, orders, and installations.
- Support Project Team on project closeout and post-turnover tasks.
Education:
- A degree from an accredited interior design program (4-year program preferred)
- Employee at this level is encouraged to have passed the NCIDQ exam
Specialized Skills:
All the specialized skills of an Interior Designer, and in addition:
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Conceptual design skills and be able to direct their team to document their creative vision
- CAD skills and direct their team in the electronic documentation of the project
- Working knowledge of construction documentation, and be able to organize construction packages, and direct team in detailing coordination with other disciplines
- Color sense and working knowledge of appropriate materials for use in Disney theme parks and resorts. Should have working knowledge of the specifications of FF&E
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word and CADD, plus digital design tools such as Adobe Suite, Sketchup and BIM if appropriate to their professional strength
Experience:
- All the experience of an Interior Designer, except a minimum seven years in interior design
- A minimum of two years managing a team of interior designers in the production of contract documents for construction
- Construction phase experience including the submittal/shop drawing review process and on-site field inspections preferred
